Prayer of the Unborn Generation

Oh beautiful disaster
Embrace me
Like a mother clutching her young to her breast
Love me in that new suburban way
Give me money
Clothes
Social status
Mythical symbols like condoms and designer drugs
Let TV make my decisions
Peer pressure can rule my life
And popularity can be my new mother
MTV and the WB network will raise me
Nurture me and tell me what to say
How to act
And whom to love
Teachers will explain sex to me at an early age
And my friends will dictate my sexual behavior
I will run into adulthood
With only half the knowledge I'll need to face life
I'll assume none of the responsibility of my actions
Oh wayward mother
Embrace me like only you can

You

I enjoy reading comments from my readers,

so if you've enjoyed reading my writing,

write a little something for me.
