It all belongs to memories now

Dream akin to nightmares

And you were always there

Laughing as I ran from you

I move in slow motion

Moving like molasses

And you

Swift as gossip on the wind

No matter how fast I run

You always catch me

I scream in pain

You let go

We begin again

Why do I run from the inevitable?

Why do you chase this weary target?

Why do you frighten me so?

Iíll probably never know

Because each time I ask your opinion

You only laugh

Dawn brings a brief respite

Very brief for the nurse walks in

And once again I am medicated

My eyes close

I see you and scream

You laugh and I begin to run

Just another day

Here in my tortured delusion

Another day

In a never-ending evolution

Of the rest of my life

I enjoy reading comments from my readers,

so if you've enjoyed reading my writing,

write a little something for me.
